Ingenasa launches an assay to identify antibodies against Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR)
The Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) is an infectious disease of obligatory declaration, which mainly affects goats and sheeps, caused by a Morbillivirus related to Rinderpest, Measles and Distemper. It has a wide geographical distribution, given to its localization in Africa, the Middle East and South Asia. It causes important economic losses, due to its high morbidity, nearly 90%. In addition, the differential diagnosis of PPR is essential due to its similarity to other pathologies such as Foot-and-mouth disease, Blue tongue or Rinderpest.
For this reason, INGENASA has developed a test that identifies virus-specific antibodies in all species that are susceptible to this disease, for disease control and differentiation with other pathologies whose symptomatology may indicate a differential diagnosis.
