Ingenasa registers a new tool to control the Porcine Epidemic Diarrhoea (PED)
The Porcine Epidemic Diarrhoea (DEP) is an infectious disease caused by a coronavirus, which is widely distributed all over the world. It affects pigs of all ages and can cause high mortality among piglets. The clinical picture resembles Transmissible Gastroenteritis (TGE) and it may be necessary to distinguish it from other bacterial or parasitic diarrheal diseases, in order to establish an appropriate treatment.
The differential diagnosis in neonatal diarrhea, is an opportunity in animal production to reduce the use of antibiotics and help to improve the situation of antimicrobial resistance that concerns us all nowadays.
At Ingenasa we have worked to develop versatile and reliable diagnostic tools that reveal the health status in pig farms, to contribute to PED control and its differential diagnosis with other diseases that present similar symptoms.

Today INGENASA launches:
INgezim PEDV

Reference: R.11.PED.K.1

Key data:
• INDIRECT assay, based on the use of a monoclonal antibody specific to porcine immunoglobulin (IgG) conjugated with peroxidase, and recombinant antigen (protein S of the virus).
• Sensitivity of 94,74% and specificity of 98,89%.
